Sicilia

The regional capital is Palermo. It is not uncommon for there to be life in the volcano Etna. One can walk up to view it. It is 3 km between Sicily and the mainland. The strait is called the Strait of Messina.

There are many nice beaches, especially in the south. The Italian mafia originated in Sicily.
