There are flights to Alghero, Olbia and Cagliari. With the help of you can get from the mainland and to Sardinia by boat.


The regional capital is Palermo. It is not uncommon for there to be life in the volcano Etna. One can walk up to view it. It is 3 km between Sicily and the mainland. The strait is called the Strait of Messina.

There are many nice beaches, especially in the south. The Italian mafia originated in Sicily.
