Chianti
Chianti is a wine district in Tuscany where Chianti Classico is described as the core area and is located between Florence and Siena. This is the perfect destination for food and wine lovers and those who dream of a holiday in Tuscany. In Chianti are several charming villages and the landscape is especially beautiful with its typical rolling hills, vineyards, cypresses, wine castles and medieval towns. In the villages you can find leather goods, ceramics and other specialty shops with local, handmade goods. The famous panoramic road Chiantigiana or SR222 (69 km) takes you from Florence to Siena. Along the road is Greve in Chianti, a pleasant little village centered around the town square. Here are several restaurants, enotecas and bars. You should visit the famous butcher: Antica Maceleria fallorni The next village is Panzano, where you can stroll around the old town and soak up the atmosphere of a bygone era. In Panzano you can visit another famous butcher: Antica Macceleria Cecchini. Dario Cecchini has almost become a celebrity and has participated in several TV programs, also in Norway in “Truls à la Hellstrøm”. Further along the SR222 is Castellina, and the medieval towns of Radda and Gaiole with several famous wine castles. One of these wine castles is Castello di Brolio.
