Verona
More hotels and holiday apartments will be launched in Verona autumn 2021.
Verona is a perfect alternative to a city break and is called “Rome in miniature”. Much of the reason is the city’s pride, Arena di Verona (see photo above), which is an amphitheater and is actually older than Rome’s Colosseum. Verona is easy to reach via flight to Bergamo or Milan. We recommend experiencing the city by staying in a hotel in the city center within walking distance to all the attractions. Did you know that the world’s most famous balcony is in Verona? Shakespeare’s famous “Romeo and Juliet” is inspired by intrigue that reigned in the 11th century between families in Verona. Right in the center of Verona you can easily find the house called “Casa di Giulietta” and the famous balcony. With Verona as a starting point, you can visit vineyards in more rural surroundings in Valpolicella and Soave. North of Verona is the Valpolicella wine district. Among other things, the popular wine Amarone is produced here. A recommended trip by car takes you from Verona, through Valpolicella, down to Lake Garda and to the town of Bardolino.
