Spring Holiday in Tuscany

April 5-9, the well-deserved girls’ trip to Tuscany was on the program. We paid a total of NOK 112.00 per person round trip Torp / Pisa. WHAT A BARGAIN!!

We landed in Pisa at 12:10 on a Tuesday. We quickly picked up the rental car, and set course for Lucca, which is 25 min from the airport. Before 14:00 we were sitting in the middle of the lovely center of Lucca with a glass of ice cold prosecco. The slushy April snow, and the bare trees in Norway had been replaced with 20 degrees Celsius, green grass and freshly sprung flowers. Quite a difference!

This was our itinerary for 4 days:

Tuesday: lunch, shopping and dinner in beautiful Lucca.

Wednesday: Trip to Florence. We took the bus from Lucca. The ticket cost € 5.20, and stopped right in the center of Florence. Only 8 min walk took us to the impressive Il Duomo – Santa Maria del Fiore.

Thursday: Sunbathing and breakfast on the terrace of the house we rented. Then we set course for Chianti. Car trip through the beautiful landscape taking about 1:30 min. Walk in Castellina in Chianti. Wine tasting at enoteca, and delicious dinner at the trattoria. We stayed at a beautiful vineyard where the fruit trees were in full bloom.

Friday: Woke up to the chirping of birds, and the smell of espresso and croissants. Breakfast outside. Drove on a discovery trip on parts of SR 222, and stopped for lunch at Osteria Di Fonterutoli. Fonterutoli is a small village owned by a few large wineries in Chianti. We ate in the cozy garden among the olive trees. Lovely risotto and a glass of red wine. Drove back to Lucca.
On Friday we bought goodies to take back to Norway. Cheeses, hams and prosecco. Friday night ended with dinner at a local trattoria on a mountainside in Lucca with a beautiful view. Many small and delicious dishes. No menu, wine, limoncella and coffee. Trattioria Giomo is worth a visit.

We even had a little flirt with an Italian on Saturday. The trip home. 6:15 p.m. At 4:15 in the morning we left Lucca. If we did not have a rental car, we could have been picked up by taxi at 4:30, and slept for 25 min in the taxi. We’ll do that next time.

Both those who work in PrimaToscana and those who work at the reception at Varramista are super welcoming and helpful. Fast response time and on the offer side, both when it came to procuring transport and miscellaneous. activities such as wine tasting and cooking classes. Very satisfied! Would love to come back.

Fantastic service. I have used Primatoscana both privately and when I had to organize a larger event through my company. Thanks to Cecilie and Knut for helping to make dreams come true!

Casa Mira is an absolutely lovely place with plenty of space and facilities in true Tuscan style. Very nice family who welcomed us and followed us up along the way if we needed help. They quickly arrived when we called, for example when the power went out a couple of times during our stay. Rubbish was emptied every day, and we came to a clean and tidy house on arrival. We were two families with a total of 8 children, for which the house was perfect. The only thing we would like was air conditioning in all bedrooms, only two bedrooms have this and it was very hot at night.Super location with a short stroll to the nearest local baker with fresh bread every morning, a lovely pizza place with takeaway, and a short drive to the nearest grocery store. Very good restaurant just down the street from the house. And a lively playground/meeting place two minutes away where families, young people, grandparents etc. met in the evenings with a small kiosk, tennis court, football pitch and playground. The kids had a great time here.We would love to come back to Casa Mira!!

The house exceeded our expectations, it was almost like a castle with a lovely location in central Tuscany, close to other great places. There were 12 of us, grandparents with children and grandchildren. The accommodation was top notch, and the property with its own pool was undisturbed. We stayed in Villa Torre in Iano.
